The strikingly beautiful sandstone rock formations within the Tano Sacred Grove, along with the interesting history and culture of the grove and other attractions, make this a highly enjoyable site to visit. The grove is located within a semi-deciduous forest and 130 hectare conservation area created by the village of Tanoboase. Taakora, the highest of the Akan Gods on earth is believed to dwell at the source of the Tano River within the grove, making it a sacred place.
Stop at the visitor centre summer hut in the village (marked by a large sign) to plan your tours.
